SquareEnix's Tetsuya Nomura, the director of Final Fantasy XIII and many other Final Fantasy titles, also including Advent Children, announced in the last issue of gamega magazine that he's working on a new game. He declined to name the project, however his hints do tend in a certain direction. Apparently it's a much requested game by fans and he's been personally approached with requests for it. Further he predicts a huge fan reaction. This could all be nothing but a PR gag to boost Final Fantasy XIII even more, but it still sounds very much like something I personally would love to see.

Did he announce a Final Fantasy VII remake? If so I'll bet my last cent that Final Fantasy XIII's record sales won't last long...

Square Enix will be doing the cinematic cutscenes for the game Deus Ex 3 by Eidos Montreal. This will be the first concrete cooperation between Eidos and Square Enix since Square Enix bought Eidos in April this year. The Square Enix team seems to be so excited about this new challenge that they even want to do the cinematics for Thief 4 too.
The expertise of the Square Enix staff to create amazing looking CGI cinematics should certainly add some eye candy to those Eidos games. Deus Ex 3 is to be released some time in 2010.
