Despite Square Enix shipping one million copies of Final Fantasy XIII to retailers for todays release, some big stores such as amazon.co.jp already sold out their stock within just a few hours. The Limited Edition PS3 Bundle also seems to sell extremely well, with already being sold out both on amazon.co.jp as well as the English online store play-asia.com. In Shibuya, Tokyo, over 300 fans lined up in front of the Tsutaya store for the official pre-release at 7am local time today, to be the first ones to buy it.

Square Enix officials say they hope to sell as much as two million copies of the game in Japan alone, making it the first PS3 game to sell more than one million copies in Japan and thus also the most successful

Remember, the North American and European release date is March 9, 2010. If you wish to get a copy on that day, make sure to pre-order it, since it's very likely that it will also sell out very quickly.
